March Accomplishments:
- Code for Seattle cross communication and collaboration
- Exploring new project: Seattle Channel civic engagement project – Civic Cocktail program (John Giamberso & Lori Patrick, Seattle Channel)
- Exploring new project: Seattle Police Workload UI Refresh (Greg Russell, CIO, Sean Whitcomb, Public Affairs Director)
- On a monthly basis, assemble a key team of UX developers who can develop new UI’s for key SPD workloads.These UI’s will help improve officer productivity. SPD will develop Versaterm API’s, architectural requirements and design standards. SPD will help prioritize workflows, test UI designs, and support community events. E-Gov and Code for Seattle will identify UX team, ensure positive civic momentum, identify additional corporate partners, and manage the sprint cycles for each workload. (estimated start date: June 2015, host 2 bi-monthly idea/hack events, monthly release)
- Initiate Washington State Internship Program with Socrata, Tableau, and Microsoft with Agency data: (Will Saunders, Program Manager – OCIO, Neal Myrick, Corporate Social Responsibility Director – Tableau)

Additional SPD project ideas discussed included:
- Improved Crimestoppers app to include a CrimeTIp feature that mimics Snapchat features; protects the sender but still allows SPD to follow-up confidentially; include geo-locaion
- Speech-to-Text on mobile apps
- Natural Language Processing (NLP) capabilities into apps, such as sentiment processing and predictive analytics
- Post redacted incidents and video/audio data to open data store for civic consumption
- Developers
- Data feeds for complex analysis
- Visualizations for everyday citizens
- Include Social media as part of situational awareness analysis; must be able to help:
- Predict upcoming incidents based on causal factors
- Associate historic 911 data as part of predictive model
